Port Canaveral Cruise Parking Guide 2024

For those looking to save, we suggest parking at an off-site parking lot. Their rates are considerably less and you can still take the shuttle right to the cruise ship. The downside is that you have to wait for the shuttle going to and from the ship.

Port Parking Space is a dedicated cruise ship parking lot for cruise passengers only, not a hotel overflow lot. We are located at Port Canaveral, not miles away from your cruise ship. At Park N’ Cruise, our secure parking lots have 24/7 video surveillance, so you can relax knowing your car is in good hands.

Getting from the Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral

The parking spots are first-come, first-served, meaning there’s no reservations and no pre-pay. You can also splurge and pay a little extra for “preferred parking”, which some terminals offer for those who want to park even closer to the ship. Getting to Port Canaveral — Transportation options from airports and the Port Canaveral area to the cruise port. Everything you need to know to get to the port and start your vacation. Once you turn, we suggest staying in the left two lanes.

THE PARKING SPACE for Port Canaveral cruisers.

Beachline ShuttleSimilar to what’s offered by GoPort, Beachline Shuttle offers “no charge” parking, but you pay for the ride over to the port. Unlike GoPort, the lot offers parking for all the cruise lines meaning you can save considerably over parking at the port no matter who you sail. So it is $80 for a 7-day cruise and $50 for a four-day trip. Cruisetime also offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the port that’s included with your parking.

Port Canaveral Terminal Information: Cruise Line by Cruise Line

Port Parking Space is conveniently located right at Port Canaveral with the closest access to cruise terminals. Port Canaveral is the closest and most active port servicing the Orlando market, less than 45-minute drive from most theme parks and attractions. However, these packages are often much more expensive than leaving your car at a cruisetime parking facility. If you’re cruising on a budget or want to save up for some souvenirs, hotel parking is NOT the way to go. If you’re staying in Cocoa Beach, there are some locations that offer Port Canaveral cruise parking.

Cruise Terminal Locations

Simply stay a night and the hotel will allow you to park your car and provide a shuttle to the port. It’s an easy way to save if you plan to stay in the area beforehand. See our list of Port Canaveral park and cruise hotels here.

So, if you’re a group of three or more, this will be cheaper than the Go Port parking services. More practically, cruise lines offer direct airport to cruise terminal shuttles for those who pre-book the service. Some area hotels also offer cruise terminal shuttle service.

These include Royal Caribbean Cruises, Carnival Cruises, MSC, and the Norwegian Cruise Line. And with the large number of persons going on these trips, getting to the port and finding suitable parking can be a difficult chore. Certainly not one to put you in the mood for a great vacation.

Where can I find parking for disabled passengers at Port Canaveral?

Our hotel partners offer “Snooze & Cruise” hotel packages for cruisers looking for a PRE- or POST-cruise stay in Cocoa Beach or Cape Canaveral. “Snooze & Cruise” hotel packages include a hotel stay, cruise shuttle transfers, and cruise parking. Your other option is to park in secured off-site parking where you park your cruise and you and your luggage take shuttle the port and they drop your off curbside. You can park at the actual cruise terminal in parking garages at the Port Canaveral cruise terminal where your ship will be docked. A complete list of the Port Canaveral area hotels offering cruise parking hotel packages is available at GoPort.com. This is a gated parking lot with 24-hour video surveillance.

The Port does not own or operate any off-Port parking facilities. Park at your cruise terminal's designated parking area and walk to your ship. Oversize parking for RV's and buses is also available at each Cruise Terminal.

With secure parking and complimentary shuttles for your cruise vacation, it’s easy to save money while getting the best off-site cruise parking. Welcome to Park N Cruise, your trusted parking solution for hassle-free cruising from Port Canaveral! Our spacious parking lot, located just 2 miles from the port, offers secure and affordable parking for your vehicle. With 24/7 video surveillance, 8-foot-tall gates, and stadium lighting, your car is in safe hands while you set sail on your adventure. Their off-site parking lot features FREE shuttles, friendly staff, and security. Their paved lot features 600 spaces with over 20 shuttles to get you to and from your ship in no time.

When you sail from Port Canaveral, make sure that every step is easy, fast, and enjoyable. Don’t waste time and money with long lines at expensive Port Canaveral cruise parking. Instead, start your cruise the right way when you park and save with Park N Cruise!

Our prices will save you up to 30% off on-site Port Canaveral parking. Port Canaveral provides parking for disabled passengers in designated areas. For returning customers, our shuttles will be ready and waiting for you as soon as you leave your ship. Our shuttles run until everyone is back to their vehicle. Looking for Port Canaveral parking during your cruise? The good news is that you’ll have plenty of choice across all price ranges.

parking at cape canaveral cruise port

It’s located adjacent to port property, meaning you can be at your ship within minutes. The lot offers 24/7 on-site monitoring, included shuttle to your cruise ship, and parking that’s a sharp discount to what you’d pay at the port. One of the most popular and safest methods of getting to your cruise ship is to park in a secure facility and then take another vehicle to the port. Some parking facilities do not offer transportation and you will then have the hassle of securing a taxi service or taking public transportation to get you to the port on time. And then there is the other hassle of finding the right terminal. We understand that maritime travel can involve a lot of stress, so we strive to make your parking experience as convenient and hassle-free as possible.

Cruise ship worker salary: How much do they make?

cruise employee pay

It’s advisable to research and compare the compensation packages offered by different cruise lines before making a decision. By either direct deposit or wiring your money home, having no access to the cash virtually eliminates the temptation to spend it. You have very few expenses working onboard since your normal monthly expenses (like rent, food, etc.) are covered or inexpensive. If you want to end your contract with a large amount of savings, you’ll need to learn to resist shopping in the ports and in the shops on board. Only United States citizens or employees that reside in the USA will have US federal taxes deducted from their pay. Depending on your employment contract and the country where you are a citizen will determine how you are paid onboard also.

Cruise Ship Worker Benefits

Overall, the salaries of cruise ship medical staff reflect the importance of their work and the value they bring to the cruise industry. These salaries are also due to the job responsibilities that come with working on a cruise ship, such as preparing a variety of meals for thousands of guests each day. The industry trends show that cruise ship companies prioritize high-quality food and dining experiences for guests, which means that they are willing to pay more for skilled chefs. Additionally, the industry trends show that cruise ship companies are willing to pay more to attract and retain talented staff. Cruise ship chefs usually have several years of experience working in similar roles in luxury hotels, restaurants, or other high-volume food service facilities. An executive chef on a cruise ship can make up to $6,500 per month, depending on the ship.

Cruise Ship Salaries: A Comprehensive Analysis

Most cruise ships have spas that offer a wide range of services, such as massages, facials, and body treatments. The cost of these services can vary depending on the cruise line and the type of service, but they’re typically more expensive than what you’d pay on land. However, many people are willing to pay the extra cost for the convenience and luxury of having spa services available to them while on vacation. Working on a cruise ship can be a great way to save money while you’re traveling the world. Very few jobs we’ll pay you to travel and when they do it’s usually for a few days to a place that is not as exotic as cruise ships can take you. The beauty of working on a cruise ship is that your home is moving away with you.

Leadership Staff

This means that it is possible to bank nearly all your earnings, especially if you don’t have too many land-based expenses. Now that we have explored the job positions and salary ranges, let’s discuss additional compensation and benefits that cruise ship employees can receive. Cruise ship employment is a dynamic and thriving industry that offers a wide range of job opportunities.

Cruise ship captain

Their schedules are structured in shifts, allowing for some time to rest, but full days off are rare during their contract, which can last several months. Cruise lines will often pay once a month, on the first business day of the month. You have the option to request a cash advance of up to 50% of your salary to be paid on the 15th of every month. You will receive your full salary plus tips and commission, if you are on a tip or commission salary, at the end of every month.

cruise employee pay

These are the cruise industry’s average salaries, which can vary among different cruise lines. It should be noted that all salaries are according to the national average as listed on PayScale, and are recorded in USD. A cruise ship captain’s primary responsibility is navigating the ship, which involves plotting courses, interpreting weather patterns, and making crucial decisions about routes and speeds.

Despite the challenges, working on a cruise ship can be an incredibly rewarding experience for those who are passionate about travel, hospitality, and adventure. It offers the opportunity to visit breathtaking destinations, meet new people, gain valuable skills, and save money. Please note that these salary ranges are approximate and can vary based on factors such as the cruise line, ship size, and itinerary.

Additionally, positions in management or specialized areas like culinary arts or casino operations can command higher salaries. The Crew Office on a cruise ship is managed by the Crew Purser or Crew Administrator. This office looks after the crew payroll including the payment of gratuities. While working onboard, the crew office is your link to head office and all correspondence about payroll issues need to be sent through the crew office.

A captain’s multifaceted role demands strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm in emergencies, making it a challenging yet rewarding position. While compiling this post, we checked several sources, including Indeed, Payscale, ZipRecruiter, and Business Insider. We also spoke with 17 current and former cruise ship workers to get an idea of their salaries and what life is like working on a cruise ship. Now that we know the total payroll amount for all the ship employees and the number of employees, it’s simple division to see that the average Carnival employee working on a ship earns $23,558. You read that right — across more than 100 ships the cruise line has nearly 85,000 crew members, coming from over 100 countries! These workers range all the way from engineers that keep the ship running to the captain to the waitstaff in the dining rooms.

In addition to competitive salaries, cruise ship medical staff may also receive benefits such as accommodation, food, and medical care. Working on a cruise ship is a dream job for many, offering the unique opportunity to travel the world while being employed. Whether you have a passion for hospitality, entertainment, or maritime operations, the cruise industry provides a wide range of job opportunities for individuals seeking an exciting career at sea. The cruise industry offers a unique blend of travel, adventure, and professional development, making it a fantastic choice for those who are well-prepared and dedicated to their craft. Once you've established yourself in a cruise ship role, seek out opportunities for career growth and advancement.

Entertainment workers on cruise ships are in charge of organizing and carrying out a variety of passenger-entertaining activities. To work on a cruise ship, certification requirements vary depending on the position. Training is provided on board and may include safety, hospitality, and job-specific skills. As with any job, there are pros and cons to working as a cruise ship medical professional. On the one hand, the opportunity to travel and work in a unique environment can be a major draw. On the other hand, the long hours and lack of access to certain amenities, such as free wifi, may not be for everyone.

cruise employee pay

It’s not unusual, for instance, to see your cabin steward making his or her first rounds early in the morning and then doing another round to tidy up rooms late in the evening. Cruise ship servers are in charge of many tables and guarantee prompt, top-notch customer service. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities are required for this position as they oversee a varied workforce in several areas and uphold high service standards. Known as the crew mess, this restaurant offers prepared foods, ready-to-go foods, and ways to heat up food that crew members already have. Employment found on ships is not typically glamourous, as one might expect. Thousands of people flock to the cruise industry for an adventurous career.

Let me break down the different pay scales for various positions on a cruise ship. While the average salary of a cruise ship worker may be less than that of the average American, it’s important to note that the earning potential varies greatly depending on the position held. It’s worth noting that cruise ship contracts can last anywhere between 2 and 11 months, with most lasting 4 to 8 months.

When working on a cruise ship you are essentially a contractor for the cruise line, you’re not an employee. You will not get paid until you sign a new contract with the cruise line and only after the first 30 days of your new contract. Most cruise lines will provide you with the date of your next assignment before you leave your current ship, so you will know when you’ll be returning and to what ship you will be returning to. There are some people that can save a lot of money during their contract onboard. I have heard of stories about crew members opening businesses back in their home country; using the money to buy property; some people made good money that they didn’t have to come back to ships.

Come time to sail away, the hoisting of the sails is cause for ceremony. The action is accompanied by the epic strains of Vangelis' "Conquest of Paradise" from the movie "1492." Passengers never tire of the sight, streaming out onto the expansive deck to watch the action whenever it occurs. Standout experiences await, from lounging in the bowsprit net suspended high above a roiling sea, to kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding off the marina platform at the rear of the ship. On the Lido deck, above the bow, is a stately, well-stocked library.

Where does Star Clippers Royal Clipper sail to?

The Bay is the perfect spot to go sea kayaking or fishing, but it is especially well known for its diverse wildlife. Seagoing travelers can spot penguins, whales, and dolphins all in a relatively small area. And when they're ready to spend some time on dry land, they can go ashore one any one of the 144 islands from which the bay gets is name. There, they'll have the chance to walk in pristine environments that are virtually untouched by man. New Zealand has long had a rich sailing culture, which is due in large part to its amazing coastlines which offer epic scenery and plenty of places to explore. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Bay of Islands, a place that has launched countless sailing adventures.

Onboard the region’s first-ever Quantum Ultra Class cruise ship.

With its mix of Romanesque, Baroque, and Gothic architecture, Aix-en-Provence, reached via Marseille, was a revelation. On separate days, hotel manager Elias Stamatopoulos prepared divine ceviche from whole tuna and swordfish sourced from Naples, Italy. Veranda Suite 318 is the most luxurious, with 301 square feet of space, an 86-square-foot balcony, three arched windows, and an L-shaped sofa that converts into a full-size fold-out bed. Watching the tightly choreographed deck crew scale the riggings, swaying slightly in the breeze, to hoist the sails on the fully rigged windjammer a few miles off Nice, France, I felt my stomach knot up. In one key difference, though, Star Clippers lets passengers harness up and climb into the crow's nest of its vessels — a thrilling experience. Just be prepared for your knees to go a bit wobbly as you get to the top; it's way up there.

Where Sea Cloud Spirit Sails

While navigating the ICW requires lots of motoring, when conditions are good, the sailing is spectacular. Many guests had looked forward to the water sports platform at the stern of the ship, hoping to swim, kayak, and perhaps paddle board off the platform in some of the quiet harbors on Royal Clipper’s itinerary. Royal Clipper has 114 staterooms, and most of them are quite tight. There are two owner’s suites, 14 deluxe outside balcony staterooms, two deck cabins, 90 outside doubles and six inside cabins.

sailing cruise ship

Sea kayaking is a great way to explore these islands, and day-excursions to wander the villages and landscapes are a must-do as well. As you would expect, the food is exquisite and the locals are accommodating, making this sailing destination one that will stay with you long after you've returned home. Setting out from Airlie Beach, the so-called "gateway to the Whitsundays," you'll find plenty of sailing ships that offer everything from single-day escapes to three-day adventures on the open ocean. Sailing the Southern Ocean is an adventure in and of itself, taking travelers across some of the most turbulent waters on the planet. The team at Classic Sailing are an experienced crew who have made that voyage many times however, and offer one of the best opportunities to visit South Georgie in a tall ship. If you're looking for a grand adventure out on the high seas, this is one that should certainly be near the top of your list.

Powered by two silent diesel electric engines, the only noise is the engine’s generators, which operate intermittently. Unlike on Sea Cloud vessels, the deck hands don't climb high into the rigging to untie and prepare the sails for winching. That part is done automatically at the push of a button from the bridge, as it is on Windstar vessels. Like Sea Cloud and Windstar, Star Clippers operates three sailing vessels that are among the biggest and most elegant sailing vessels in the world. The line's three vessels typically spend nearly all of their time sailing in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean or along the west coast of Central America. Sea Cloud Cruises' three vessels offer a diverse array of sailings in the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Canary Islands and Morocco, the Caribbean or along the west coast of Central America.

It's a fully automated system that is much more modern, if less dramatic. For a sailing adventure that combines time both on sea and on land, travel to Turkey and take on the Lycian Coast. This beautiful destination features quaint fishing towns, beautiful and secluded beaches, and miles of rocky cliffs. Most visitors split their time on the open ocean with visits to a number of intriguing archaeological sites, many of which are found not far from shore. A visit to Zanzibar is a perfect extension after finishing up a Tanzanian safari or as a destination in its own right.

Williams Bay High School

Christmas Eve Brunch with Santa at the Baker HouseExperience the Magic of Christmas Eve Brunch with Santa Claus at Baker House! Celebrate the joy of the season with our enchanting Christmas Eve Brunch, where cherished moments come to life at Baker House! Join us on Sunday, December 24th, from 10 am to 2 pm, with the last seating at 1pm. Santa will be making a special appearance, spreading cheer and joy as he visits with our guests. Capture the moment with photos and create lasting memories with your loved ones. On our cruise, we were told that we were going to Santa’s North Pole hideaway.

Santa Cruise tours will be conducted Wednesday through Sunday until Dec. 30. A local family prepares to take a joyful ride on the Santa Cruise. There will be some available, however, people are encouraged to park at Williams Bay High School and take the free shuttle to the Christmas Tree Barn for check-in.

We appreciate knowing ahead if you have special needs so that we can make accommodations. A lighted scene along Geneva Lake depicts Santa waving “hi” and wishing spectators a happy holiday. Our fleet consists of eight classic boats from different historical eras, providing locals and visitors with a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of Lake Geneva.

We offer a range of boat tours, including narrated scenic tours; brunch, lunch, and dinner cruises; and private parties, corporate events, and weddings. If you have a group of 20 people or more, say for the annual holiday office party, there are group rates available — so long as you make arrangements through the main office. The group rate comes out to $21 to $25 for each person, depending on the dates you choose. To make a whole evening out of it, you can also have dinner at the pier's restaurant, which has hearty appetizers and plenty of warm seafood dishes on offer. The dinner-and-cruise package costs $55 to $60 per person, though prices are subject to change.

Breakfast with Santa at Lake Lawn ResortCome and join the festivities at lake lawn resort for an enchanting event Breakfast with Santa! Breakfast with Santa is back, complete with new treats and surprises. As guests arrive, they will be greeted by the sounds of the Delavan-Darien High School Orchestra performing in the Fireside Lounge. Then, they can enjoy our bountiful buffet with the kids in our Lake Lawn Room and Geneva Club. As an additional treat, the kids will have the opportunity to visit with Santa in his large igloo on the Lakeview Terrace. We will also have a room set aside for various crafts, including ornament making, cookie decorating, and more.

On busy weekends before Christmas, there will be almost no parking at the marina. You can drop off members of your group, park at the high school, and take the shuttle back. Strollers are allowed on the boat as well as in the Christmas Tree Barn before departure. If the boat is too crowded, your stroller can be used to get on the boat and then stored for the ride. A view of Santa reading from the Nice List at his Lake Geneva hideaway - photograph courtesy of Lake Geneva Cruise Lines.

But it turns out he keeps a humble second home along the idyllic Lake Geneva in Wisconsin — about an hour southeast of the capital city of Madison. Each year, the Lake Geneva Cruise Line brings families together with a holiday-themed boat ride to enjoy the Christmas lights from the water and spot Santa along the shores. This year, the Santa cruises operates from the day after Thanksgiving, November 24, through December 30, 2023. When it was time to board, we followed the elf through the restaurant and to the pier.

Port Tampa Bay Cruise Port and Terminal Information

cruise ships port of tampa

You can choose to park at Carpark, Tampa Bay’s official parking spot, or use an off-site park that comes with a free shuttle service for your movement to the terminals. There are plenty of hotels to choose from located near both the Tampa airport and Port Tampa Bay, making getting to the port on embarkation day a breeze. These companies simply compete with the port for your business, and their main weapon is having lower rates. In fact, these lots are often right near the cruise terminal themselves and usually offer a shuttle if you don’t want to make the short walk.

Terminals

Head to Hyde Park Village for upscale boutique stores, and stop in local sportswear outfitter Salt Pines. Nothing beats Ybor City when it comes to quirky vintage stores and hand-rolled cigars. Tampa’s food scene stems from a fusion of Cuban, Spanish, Italian and Floribbean influences. Local raw bars serve up fresh shrimp, oysters, scallops and grouper from the Gulf of Mexico. For a taste of authentic Florida Cracker cuisine, try sofkee porridge, pilau (rice cakes) or fried alligator tail during your next Tampa cruise. Once the home of a phosphate machinery manufacturer, Armature Works is Tampa’s trendiest new dining destination located along the Hillsborough River.

Facts about Port Tampa Bay

The cost of parking with these independent lots is approximately $7, which is half the price of Carpark. Terminal 6 sits at 1333 McKay Street, making it the fastest access point from downtown. The terminal was initially used to dock ships from Holland America Cruise Line. With this cruise line exiting its operations from Port Tampa Bay, Terminal 3 houses ships from multiple cruise lines as scheduled.

Where to Stay Near the Port?

We suggest trying to find a hotel in downtown Tampa or in Ybor City. Staying here essentially adds another port of call to your cruise with lots to do and explore. Plus, it’s easy to get to the cruise ship from either location on embarkation day. As a city that caters to cruise passengers, there are also a number of Tampa hotels that offer parking during your cruise, as well as hotels with cruise shuttles. Below are a few options for each, but we suggest seeing our full list in the articles linked above. Passengers departing on cruises from Tampa Bay will leave from Port Tampa Bay, home to three cruise terminals.

Port Tampa Bay homeports five ships from four different cruise lines, offering travelers itineraries ranging from four days to two weeks. Its relatively small size makes it a popular choice for travelers who prefer easy access and convenience. All three cruise terminals in Tampa are within walking distance to several of the city's attractions and waterfront hotels.

It has three berths offering MLW depths between31’3” and 33 feet, berth lengths of 548, 600 and 621 feet and a maximum beam of106 feet. If you're planning to take your car to the cruise port, below are directions to Port Tampa Bay. The terminal offers facilities like fast security and luggage carts. In the late-1990s, Cruise Terminal 2 creation was incorporated in the Garrison Seaport Center scheme.

Payments for car parking and valet services can be made before or on your cruising day. Tampa Port features a payment function on its website (tampaport.com) to facilitate pre-payments. With an advance payment, your parking slot is booked, and a valet is allocated to your car. If your flight is arriving later in the evening, you may want to stay closer to the airport and head to the cruise terminal in the morning. The Westshore area is located just outside the airport, and has plenty of hotels to choose from.

Hampton Inn & Suites Tampa-Ybor City

Port Tampa Bay has earmarked over 300 acresfor new industrial development including a new berth for cruise ships as partof its Vision 2030 plans. This includes developing world-class passengerfacilities to optimize the cruise experience for visitors and generate cruise-relatedbenefits and jobs for the Tampa community. All cruise terminalsat Tampa Bay Port are ADA compliant and wheelchair friendly. Contact yourcruise line if you require use of a wheelchair or disabled assistance duringboarding and disembarkation.

Oceania Cruises unveils 2025-2026 Tropics and Exotics Collection

If driving along Interstate 4, use I-4 West and head to 21st Street through Exit 1. The Channelside Drive is on the left, connecting you to Port Tampa Bay terminals. If you drive along Interstate 75 from the South, use I-75 North and head to Crosstown Expressway through Exit 50. Considered a metropolitan oasis of Florida, the coastal city of Tampa presents a range of wondrous opportunities to fill your cruising itinerary. The unlimited sparks of life, natural wonders, and urban vibrance make the capital’s downtown a prolific spot to stay, work, and explore.

Located within walking distance from the cruise terminals is Sparkman Wharf. Here you will find all you could ever want in dining and shopping, as well as an open-air biergarten that includes over 24 taps of Florida craft beer, all with a breathtaking waterfront view. If you want to extend your cruise or are considering a combined Stay and Park package, you’ll find plenty of great deals on hotels in Tampa close to the cruise terminal. While Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HART) services the airport and downtown, cruise passengers will likely find the hour-long journey lacks convenience.

Arguably, one of the best sites to see is the ship sailing under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. This bridge is located about a minute drive south of Tampa, and it takes the ships about 2 hours after departure to reach the bridge. Since the airport is located so close to the port, I recommend utilizing a rideshare or taxi service over a shuttle. Not only will prices typically be lower, you also won’t have to wait on a shuttle to fill up before being able to leave. Royal Caribbean offers shuttle service from the airport to the port (and vice versa), for an extra fee. There are also outside vendors who offer shuttle service such as Infinity Transportation.

You can also take the TECO Line Streetcar around downtown Tampa and Y-Bor. For a fun way to see the city, try a water taxi, which will take you to various stops along the water. For the sake of convenience, many cruise lines will offer transfers for their passengers from the Tampa airport. Although this is a great service, it can get expensive if you’re traveling with a lot of people. Also, your shuttle is only going to be available on cruise day, so if you fly in the day before you’ll have to seek alternate means of transportation.

15 Best Things to Do in Bimini on a Cruise Port Guide

bimini cruise port photos

Although it never saw action in WW1, the SS Spano was commissioned by U.S. After the war it was sold for scrap, turned into a casino and supply ship and was run aground during a hurricane. Just a little ways off-shore, this wreckage is a great place to snorkel or scuba dive.

Cruise Lines and Itineraries

Since Bimini has a tropical climate, you’ll probably need a bug repellent too. Also, be aware of the local laws and customs when visiting Bimini. Photographing people from the island without their permission is illegal in some areas. I tend to explore on my own, but in this case, my experience would have been totally different. This is a sleepy island and many of the businesses open at a more leisurely pace. Max planned our itinerary and made sure that someone met us at each stop.

Hilton at Resort World Bimini

From its early days as a haven for pirates to its current status as an up-and-coming paradise, Bimini is sure to amaze you with its beauty and culture. Just when you thought there wasn’t more to explore in The Bahamas, another corner of our magnificent islands is open for discovery. Bimini isn’t exactly new to those coming to visit this part of the world.

Bimini Bahamas Cruise Port Guide

Guided tours available in Bimini allow visitors to uncover the rich history and culture of the Bahamas. They can embark on a history-laden journey trailing the steps of Hemingway or dive into the legend of the Lost City of Atlantis by visiting the Bimini Road. Bimini cruise port offers an array of excursions and adventures suitable for every kind of traveler, from the adventurous to those seeking relaxation. One can experience the island's beauty and excitement through various shore excursions, including water sports and guided tours. Introduced in the summer of 2021, this port at Resorts World Bimini can accommodate some of the largest ships in the cruise industry, including Royal Caribbean's Oasis-class vessels. Bimini, translating from the Lucayan language, invites travelers into a world where the slower pace and natural beauty provide an idyllic backdrop to their sea journey.

Whether buying souvenirs or enjoying a meal at a restaurant, having some local currency will ensure smooth transactions during your visit to Bimini Cruise Port Guide. When it comes to finding the best places to eat, Stuart’s Conch Stand and Joe’s Conch Shack are highly recommended. These restaurants are known for their mouthwatering conch dishes made from the freshest ingredients. Whether you prefer a tranquil escape or a more vibrant beach day experience, Bimini Cruise Port has something to suit every preference.

Visit A Conch Shack

Conch is plentiful in Bimini, and you will see piles of shells in the water especially near the Conch Shack, where you can try Conch Salad, a local specialty. The salad is like ceviche only made with conch, peppers, tomatoes, cucumber, and citrus juices. Behind each stand along the water, you can see fenced in areas where the conch is stored until it is harvested. At one of the stops, Max pointed out a rough-looking raft which turned out to be one Cuban refugees escaped on.

The Beach Club at Bimini: What You Can Expect From Virgin Voyages' Private Experience Ashore.

Is Bimini a private island for Virgin Voyages?

The shipwreck of SS Sapona is a great place to snorkel as well, but it's south from South Bimini, so it's a bit more of a trek. You could also explore Alice Town on North Bimini and lounge on the beaches nearby, three of which are Alice Town, Radio and Beach 360. There was an option on our cruise to book the resort with lunch included for an extra $25.

Visitors can also relax on the white sandy beaches, savor Bahamian delicacies, and immerse themselves in the laid-back island vibes that make Bimini a true paradise. While Bimini has more than a few ways for guests to arrive, until now not every part of the island was properly serviced. For the very first time, the Out Island has a port large enough to support Oasis Class vessels. Cruise companies dropping anchor here include Crystal Cruises, Carnival Cruise line, Virgin Voyages, and MSC Cruises. Here, instant access to the very best amenities is right at hand for disembarking guests. Bimini's cruise port opens the door to a spectacular world of beaches and water activities.

Bimini Road is a great diving and snorkeling spot not far off from the coast and port, which theorists have claimed to be the road to the Lost City of Atlantis. There are several restaurants and shopping spots in Alice Town, which is located on the southern part of North Bimini and is the most settled location on this island. Fisherman's Village is the best option on North Bimini for shopping. One of the most popular ways of reaching the cruise port on North Bimini island is by the South Bimini Airport, which is on South Bimini. Resorts World is amazing, with crystal clear water and resort style pools, food and restrooms. Deck chairs and umbrellas were provided by the pool at no cost and there was no trouble finding an open spot as the resort is large.

Regular sanitization of surfaces and availability of hand sanitizing stations help maintain a hygienic environment. Signage and staff are also present to guide visitors and help maintain orderly and safe experiences. The Bimini Cruise Port takes pride in ensuring passengers have access to various comfort amenities and up-to-date safety measures.

I will just say that being in the calming atmosphere of Bimini is enough to keep one young. This popular dive site is perfect for snorkeling as well, as the wreck sits in just 15 feet of water. The shipwreck site was used as a bombing target for United States fighter pilots during World War II, so the ship shows significant damage. The 2nd stop on the tram is Paradise Beach where you can rent loungers, umbrellas, kayaks, and the golf carts mentioned above. Known by locals as “The Gateway to the Bahamas,” Bimini was first settled by indigenous Lucayan people and still retains its Lucayan name “Bimini” which means “small islands”.

bimini cruise port photos

Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant marine life and indulge in the tranquility of the island's renowned beach clubs. Bimini in the Bahamas is becoming a destination for many cruise lines since the Resort World Cruise Port opened in the summer of 2021. The huge dock can accommodate the largest cruise ships in the world.

For those seeking more independence, golf cart rental is widely available, allowing guests the freedom to roam the streets of Bimini at their own pace. Golf carts can be rented near the port area, and zooming along to spots like Radio Beach becomes a breeze. Bimini is a snorkeler's paradise, boasting a variety of underwater wonders. The SS Sapona wreck, sitting 18 feet below the surface, serves as an artificial reef teeming with marine life. It's not just an epic dive site; snorkelers often find themselves enchanted by the historical gravity and aquatic biodiversity of the wreck.

This varied experience makes her a well-rounded and knowledgeable commentator on everything cruise-related. Ensuring the health and safety of its guests is paramount at Bimini port. Additionally, the port ensures high standards of cleanliness, particularly in high-traffic areas.
